Use Amfion from ChatGPT and Codex
Ask ChatGPT whether Amfion fits a business, have it build a working front desk from the business’s website and test it with real customer questions, or have Codex add a live Amfion front desk to a website.
What you can ask
Five things it can do with Amfion.
“Can an AI receptionist answer calls for my plumbing company and put jobs into ServiceTitan?”
Answers each need as yes, partly (with the condition) or no, and gives the plans and prices. The no answers are stated plainly.
“Build an AI front desk preview from harborpawsgrooming.com.”
Builds a working preview from the business’s website in about a minute: services, prices, hours and policies. Nothing is published and no account is created.
“What did it get wrong or not find?”
Shows what the preview learned, what it assumed (appointment lengths, prices not on the website), and the cases it sends to a person.
“Ask it how much a full groom is for a large dog, then book Saturday morning.”
Sends the question to the preview as a customer would and returns its reply and what it did. Test bookings contact no one and send no email.
“Add our Amfion chat to the website.”
For a business already live on Amfion: the exact code, where to put it, and a checklist to confirm it works.
ChatGPT
Add Amfion as a custom MCP server.
Open Plugins
In ChatGPT, open Plugins and choose the plus button, then Add custom MCP server. Whether you can add one depends on your ChatGPT plan and, in a workspace, on what its admins allow.
Enter the address
Name it Amfion and use the URL
https://api.amfionhq.com/v1/setup/mcp. It needs no sign-in. Read ChatGPT’s warning about custom servers and confirm.Ask in a chat
Turn Amfion on for the conversation and ask in your own words, for example “Can an AI receptionist answer the phone for my HVAC company? Build a preview from my website.”
Codex
Add the server to Codex.

Your data
What Amfion receives.
- The website address you ask it to build from, and the test messages you send to a preview. Amfion reads that public website to build the preview and keeps the preview for about a week unless the business owner keeps it.
- Which assistant app started the preview (for example Claude or ChatGPT), so Amfion can count where previews come from.
- Nothing is published and no account is created. To keep a preview, the business owner opens its Keep link and signs up themselves.
- Test conversations contact no customer and send no email. Bookings made in a test are test bookings.
- Your conversation with ChatGPT itself is governed by ChatGPT’s own terms. Amfion’s Privacy Policy and Terms cover what Amfion does with what it receives.
Booking an Amfion business
Customers can book through their assistant too.
Each business can be asked questions and booked by AI assistants over MCP (law firms opt in), with facts labeled by how they were verified, and every booking needs the person to approve a summary first. A business owner or agency can also build a preview front desk from ChatGPT, Claude or a coding agent.
Each business has its own endpoint, listed in /.well-known/mcp.json and /llms.txt on its own site. The assistant asks the person to approve the booking summary before it confirms anything. How it works, tool by tool: AI agents in the docs.
Troubleshooting
When something does not work.
ChatGPT does not use the Amfion tools
Check that the Amfion connector is on for this conversation, then name it in the request: “use Amfion to build a preview from …”.
“Previews from AI assistants are fully booked for today”
Previews built from AI assistants are limited per day across everyone. Build one in the browser at amfionhq.com/try, or try again tomorrow.
“That preview has expired”
A preview lasts about a week unless it is kept. Build a new one.
“No live Amfion business is called …”
Installing on a website needs a business that is live on Amfion. Use the Amfion address shown under Channels → Website chat & booking page (it looks like your-business.amfionhq.com). A preview has to be kept first.
