For veterinary clinics
Book the checkups.
Send emergencies on, right now.
Amfion answers your phone, texts, email and website chat with your own services and policies, books wellness and sick visits with the pet’s details, tells owners with an emergency to call an emergency vet now, and never gives medication advice. Below, a fictional clinic shows how.
Or start with your own site: paste your website and meet your own front desk in about a minute; the preview holds no patient records and is not veterinary advice. Maple Hollow Animal Clinic is a fictional clinic, and the conversations below are scripted examples of the rules that ship, not recordings. Keep your scheduler: Amfion books on its own calendar or writes to Cal.com, reads Google Calendar busy time and mirrors bookings into it, and keeps your phone number. It does not connect to practice software or read patient records; see what it connects to.

The pet’s details, then a real slot
Name, species, breed, age and the reason for the visit are collected before booking. The exam price is the one the clinic publishes, vaccines are left to the visit because the clinic says so, and the time comes from the clinic’s own calendar.

Booked vs never booked
Routine visits book themselves. Emergencies go to an emergency vet.
The emergencies are part of the veterinary setup. When a booking names one, the system refuses it and tells the assistant to send the owner to the emergency line first; it is not left to the assistant’s judgment.

Compatibility
Can we keep our practice software?
Yes, as your system of record. Here is exactly what Amfion books into, reads from, and leaves alone.
No external account needed. Services, staff, hours and capacity live in Amfion; every booking gets a customer manage link.
Connect your account and Amfion reads its availability and writes bookings there. Cal.com syncs with Google, Outlook and Apple calendars.
Amfion blocks booking around your busy events and copies its own bookings into your calendar. It does not read appointments from other software.
Forward the calls you miss to your Amfion number with your carrier’s dial code, or port the number in later. Nothing changes for callers.
Where the visit lives
On Amfion’s scheduler or in Cal.com, with the pet and the reason attached. You get every conversation in your Inbox with its transcript, and a copy of each booking in Google Calendar if you connect it. Amfion never reads your patient records.
Where your number lives
With you. Forward busy, unanswered or after-hours calls to your Amfion number; owners dial the number they always have. Read more on the phone channel page.
What it costs
One plan covers the clinic’s whole front desk.

Setup
Live in an afternoon, between appointments.
Start with the preview
Paste your website: the preview reads your services, hours and policies and applies the veterinary rules, emergencies included. Keep it and it becomes your workspace with those rules in place; correct anything it got wrong before it answers a real client.
Write your own rules in plain sentences
“New patients book a 45-minute first visit.” “Exotics by phone only.” Your rules are added after the veterinary ones, not in place of them.
Pick a number, or forward yours
Choose a local number in Channels → Phone, or forward missed calls from your existing line. Set who gets transferred calls and what happens after hours.
Put it on your site and read the transcripts
One line of code adds the chat widget; your booking page and email address work with nothing installed. Every conversation lands in your Inbox.
Questions
Clinics ask us these.
What happens when a pet owner describes an emergency?
It is never booked as an ordinary appointment. Suspected poisoning or something toxic eaten, bloat or a swollen belly with retching, trouble breathing, a seizure, being hit by a car or other major trauma, heavy bleeding, being unable to urinate and collapse all get the same answer first: call the clinic’s emergency line or the nearest emergency veterinary hospital right now. On a call the assistant then transfers the caller to your team when you have transfers set up, and repeats the instruction if no one answers; in chat or text it flags the conversation for a person at once. A message is never offered as a substitute.
Will it give medical advice?
No. It never suggests a medication or a dose, never diagnoses, and never says whether a symptom is normal or can wait. It says the veterinarian will advise and offers a visit.
Can it make up an emergency hospital’s number?
No. Its rules forbid inventing a phone number or a hospital name, so any number it gives has to come from the material you approved. Without one, it tells the owner to call your emergency line or the nearest emergency veterinary hospital.
What does it collect before booking a visit?
The pet’s name, species, breed and age, and the reason for the visit. The pet is saved with the booking and the reason is recorded in the customer’s words, so your team opens the appointment knowing who is coming and why.
How does it handle euthanasia requests?
It never books one. The conversation goes to a person, as do complaints, billing disputes and anyone upset or asking for a specific vet.
Does it read our patient records or connect to our practice software?
No. It knows only what you approve: services, hours, prices you publish and your policies. It does not connect to practice software such as ezyVet, AVImark or Cornerstone today; you keep that as your system of record, and Amfion books on its own scheduler or into Cal.com and copies bookings to Google Calendar if you connect it.
Do I have to give up our phone number?
No. Keep your number and forward the calls you miss (busy, no answer, after hours) to your Amfion number with your carrier’s standard dial code. Porting the number in is available for committed customers.
What does it cost a clinic?
Front Desk is $249 a month and includes a local number, 200 answered-call minutes, 3,000 conversations and unlimited bookings; Digital is $99 for website chat, your booking page and email, with no phone number for calls or texts. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial and no card.
