Your assistant answers the phone
Get a local number in seconds. Callers get the same assistant, knowledge and booking tools as your website chat — appointments booked on the call, and a person one keypress away when it matters. Every call is transcribed into your Inbox.
How it works
- A local number in seconds
- Settings → Phone → Find numbers: pick a US local number and it is yours immediately. Give it out directly, or keep your existing number and forward the calls you miss (busy, no answer, after hours) to it — most carriers do that with a short dial code the page shows you.
- The same assistant, on the phone
- It answers in a couple of rings, says it is the AI assistant, and answers from the same knowledge as your website chat — services, prices, hours, policies. It checks live availability and books the appointment on the call, reading names, emails and numbers back before it confirms.
- A person, when it matters
- When a caller asks for someone, or the assistant cannot help, it rings your transfer number first with a short brief (“Amfion for your business: a caller is holding — wants to reschedule. Press 1 to take the call.”). Press 1 and the caller is connected to you. If nobody picks up, the assistant apologizes and takes a message that lands in your Inbox and your email.
- Texting, on the same number
- On approved numbers, customers can reach the same assistant by SMS or WhatsApp instead of calling — same knowledge, live availability, and real bookings, right in the thread. Optionally, when a call can’t be answered, the caller gets one text back inviting them to continue by text.
- Every call in your Inbox
- Calls are transcribed live into a conversation next to your chats and emails, with the tools the assistant used (checked availability, booked). Settings → Phone lists recent calls with length and outcome. Audio is never stored; the greeting says the call is transcribed.
Minutes and numbers
Call minutes are metered separately from conversations. Front Desk includes a local number and 200 minutes a month; Growth includes 700; Digital answers calls pay-as-you-go. Beyond your plan’s minutes, calls are $0.49 per minute. Each business runs one live number today; on plans without an included number it is $10 a month. Calls are never cut off mid-conversation, and Settings → Phone shows minutes used, what is included, and what would be billed.
What it does not do yet
- Outbound calls — the assistant answers; it does not place calls or send reminders by phone.
- Automated SMS reminders — conversations by text are live on approved numbers, but scheduled reminder texts still go by email today.
- Recording. Calls are transcribed, not recorded, and no audio is kept.
- Numbers outside the US, and porting an existing number in (forwarding your existing number to your Amfion number works today).
